The past few years has seen an ongoing feud between two technology powerhouse s, Apple and Samsung. Friday May 2, 2014 a federal jury ruled Samsung must pay Apple $119.6 million over patent infringements. This case is just another “one” in a line of many lawsuits that have already come and are to come. The two technology giants are at each others neck in patent disputes. Apple has been on record alleging Samsung has copied aspects of the iPhone and iPad technology. Back in 2012 Samsung was said to have violated many of Apples patents and a jury ruled that Samsung owed Apple more than $1 billion in damages. Later U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh determined that the jury had “miscalculated” the money reward. Around $450 million of the award was reconsidered in another trial. Both parties have appealed rulings dating as far back as 2012, with that being said this is a feud that is sure to continue for the next couple of years. Who is in the wrong here? Has Samsung gone too far modeling their products after Apple’s?
