1. Chiefs (5-1), The Chiefs are playing the best football in the league. Week to week a new star emerges on this stacked team. If Alex Smith continues to play lights out this will be a tough team to beat going forward.
2. Eagles (5-1), I think every one is waiting for the Eagles to spiral downwards, that's everyone except for the Eagles. The Eagles are playing complete football on both sides of the ball. That Eagles front 7 is stout!
3. Patriots (4-2), The Patriots seem to still be trying to put things together but the injury bug keeps rearing its ugly head. The offense will go as Tom goes but the Defense is shaky at best.
4. Steelers (4-2), On the field the Steelers are producing but in the locker room there is mischief. WR Martavis Bryant wants out. There seems to be a disconnect between the organization and Bryant, hopefully this doesn't become an on the field distraction.
5. Panthers (4-2), The Panthers have started the season well again, hopefully unlike past years they can continue to play quality ball. Cam Newton must grow up off the field because I have a feeling the antics will start to affect the team on the field.
6. Falcons (3-2), The reigning NFC Champs seem to be reeling. They must get that offense clicking and quickly. I'm not completely giving up on the Falcons yet but it seems every team in the AFC East has their number this year.
7. Texans (3-3), The Texans have what I think is a stud in the making with Deshaun Watson, the kid can flat out play. If the Texans can continue to win while Watson goes through his growing pains this team could be scary in the latter part of the season.
8. Broncos (3-2), The Broncos are just getting by this season thanks to the tough play of their defense but if they want to keep winning the offense is going to have to start putting drives together and winning these close games.
9. Redskins (3-2), I really want to believe in the Redskins but there just doesn't seem to be enough consistent play around Kirk Cousins from the other skill positions. The Redskins need to start making a push now because at the end of the year they could be on the outside of the playoffs looking in with a winning record.
10.Seahawks (3-2), The Seahawks seem to be gearing up to hit stride midway through the season like they always do. Jimmy Graham needs to start playing big. The Seahawks in the red zone this year have not been good at all!
11.Rams (4-2), It's hard to put a team who is 4-2 outside of the top 10, but for now I just can't put all my eggs in the basket with the LA Rams. They seem to play tough teams tough and bad teams bad, if they can play at a consistent level no matter their competitor this could be a dangerous team.
12.Cowboys (2-3), The Cowboys are ranked this high with a losing record because the eye test tells me that this team (without Zeke's court issues, Jerry Jones' obsession with the National Anthem, and the small injuries on defense) is still one of the best all around teams in the NFC, they will get back into rare form.
13.Vikings (4-2), I know you're wondering how a team that has exceeded expectations is this low, just hold on to your britches if this team keeps winning they wont be low for long. The Offense is what's most surprising. Without rookie Running Back Dalvin Cook they sill look good!
14.Bills (3-2), Coming off of a tough loss, but the Bills have the next two games at home. I think the Bills are primed for a turn around they have good wins against quality opponents early this season. It will be interesting to see if the Bills can keep winning the close games this year.
15.Cardinals (3-3), The Cardinals need to find a grove and quickly. Their next 3 games are all against division foes and will definitely play a huge part later on in the year when it comes to playoff seeding for division winners. I don't see this team being good enough to secure a wild card spot so they need to win their division!
16.Saints (3-2), The Saints have won 3 games straight after starting the season ugly. Their next two games are against the Rodgerless Packers and a Bears team that would probably struggle vs Alabama University. Saints are on the march!
17.Packers (4-2), I know, 4-2 ranked 17? Yes that how important Aaron Rodgers is to this team. I think the packers will finish the season at .500.
18.Jaguars (3-3), The Jaguars have one of the best young defenses in the league, if the offense can start to play at a consistent level they will not only win their division (which they are tied for currently) but I can see them beating an AFC favorite in the playoffs. The Jaguars have one of the easiest schedules left in the league, there will be no excuse on the table if the Jaguars cant produce at least 10 wins this season.
19.Lions (3-3), The Lions have lost 3 of their last 4 and it doesn't get any easier after this bye week because they have to matchup against a Steelers team that's hitting stride at the right time. Rest up Lions.
20.Raiders (2-4), 4 straight losses and I am sitting here with my bottom lip on the table. A team that made as many offseason moves as the Raiders shouldn't be sitting at 2-4 right now. If the Raiders don't turn it around quickly they will be watching the playoffs from home.
21.Titans (3-3), If the Titans can shake this injury bug that plagues them they could actually make some noise this year. They arguably have one of the best running back tandems in the NFL.
22.Dolphins (3-2), I believe the Dolphins are better than their record indicates but week to week no one knows what Dolphins team will take the field. If this season doesn't pan out I look for major moves to be done in the front office.
23.Buccaneers (2-3), No one wants to see the Buccs succeed more then I do but with the hardest remaining schedule in the league it just looks very unlikely. Sorry Jamison.
24.Jets (3-3), If the Jets look to make the playoffs they need to win their next few games because their last 6 games will be an uphill battle. This is the portion of their schedule they need to win, NOW!
25.Chargers (2-4), At 2-4 the Chargers have won back to back games. They boast one of the best defensive fronts in the NFL led by Joey Bosa, the kids a stud!
26.Bears (2-4), This is all to familiar territory for the Bears, where to begin. Kudos to Mitchell Trubisky getting his first NFL win but the next 5 opponents might make like hard for the promising young QB. If the Bears decide to start playing winning football there would be no better time then now.
27.Ravens (3-3), The Ravens beat a Raiders team without David Carr and then just lost to a Bears team that were surprised they even won at the end of the game. Every team has injuries you have to learn how to live and win with them. The Ravens have not played to their potential this year earning them this spot at 27.
28.Bengals (2-3), With 4 of their next 5 games on the road against quality opponents I don't see the Bengals making any huge strides in the winning department. I'd be surprised if the Bengals surpassed 20 on this list at all this season.
29.Colts (2-4), Whenever Andrew Luck returns you can expect two things.... more wins and more interceptions.
30.Giants (1-5), The good news is despite all the injuries the G-Men wont go 0-16, the bad news is their next 3 games are vs the Seahawks, Rams and Chiefs.
31.49ers (0-6), San Francisco is 0-6, BUT 5 of those 6 games were lost by 3 or less points. If this team can learn how to win the close ugly games they would easily be in playoff contention.
32.Browns (0-6), With the first pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns select.... sounds familiar.
